Obesity in Children, Causes, Prevention and Treatment.
In our last discussion on Obesity I mentioned that children too can be obese which means that we have many children that are excessively fat for their age. Obesity is the accumulation of excess fat in the body. The same way an adult develops obesity, a child also can develop it. Present day mums are too busy and because of their busy schedule finds it impossible to plan their children's diet.

A healthy Child's diet constitute a well balanced diet which can be categorised into Carbohydrates, Proteins and Fats. These three in the right constituents makes a healthy child. Carbohydrates which Is a major source of energy is what a child needs for his very active lifestyle. Once a child takes too much of energy given foods and if it is not burned out through activity, then that energy turns to fat which is then stored in the child's tissues and body. This is what causes obesity in children.
PREVENTION: It is very important for parents to be actively involved in their child's well-being.To prevent Obesity, Parents should do the following:
1. Limit the number of hours your child spends in front of the TV, Computer games and Video games.
2. Encourage more outdoor activities and outdoor games like walking, cycling etc.
3. Limit your child's intake of sugars like fizzy drinks, too much of energy foods should be limited. PREVENTION: It is very important for parents to be actively involved in their child's well-being.To prevent Obesity, Parents should do the following:
1. Limit the number of hours your child spends in front of the TV, Computer games and Video games.
2. Encourage more outdoor activities and outdoor games like walking, cycling etc.
4. Provide enough fibre rich foods and also whole meals which encourage digestion.
5. Provide your child with a well-balanced meal. More of protein rich foods and also well-nourished foods.
6. Avoid fast foods or take-aways from eateries.
7. Let your child cultivate the habit of eating lots of fruits and vegetables because of bowel movement.
8. Your child must also form the habit of drinking lots of water for a clear and radiant skin tone.
TREATMENT: There are a number of treatments available for obese children. But I would suggest you work on your child's diet and lifestyle. Follow all the guide-lines in this write-up and make adjustments. Some health and drugs company have some drugs that could reduce body fat.
