Human Sacrifices and Ritual Killing In a Modern World.

 

Two days ago when I got wind of the passing of the Oba of Ikeja, (my business environ), I knew what the next storyline would be. Shops around the area would be closed, millions of Naira would be lost since commercial activities would be affected, there would be restriction of movement (Vehicular and people) and on and on. But the most annoying of all these is this piece of information I got this morning on my phone and it reads: "Avoid unnecessary late outings around that area within this period to avoid falling a victim to some fetish sacrifices." OMG! Fetish Sacrifices???!!!Could this be happening in our modern world??? Twenty-First Century Nigeria??? Human Sacrifices and Ritual killings??? In a Nation that boasts of the best minds or brains in the world? The likes of Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe etc. This should be unheard of in developed countries! How backward can a nation be?!!! How backward can it's people be?!!! How backward can the mentality of our so called Leaders be in a modern world?. That when a so-called King dies, then heads must roll? What does this say about us as a people??? Infact, I feel so sad that this can be happening in a Country I call my own.

One day, someone asked him the reason why? He explained that whenever he faces any issue that wants to stress or overwhelm him, he looks at the pic or his wife's image and reminds himself that if I can handle this stress I live with then, I can handle any stress that comes my way. Hehehe very funny indeed. So in your own opinion, do you think fights, quarrels and misunderstandings are good for any relationship? Is it healthy? What are the pros and cons!

 A great interest and pleasure in something. A person or thing that one loves. Verb- To feel deep affection or Sexual love for someone. What are the pros and cons of On-Line Dating? We all know that the social media has come to stay. There have been stories of people meeting their partners through social media and have also had wonderful relationships leading to marriage. I personally, know two people who met their husbands through social media, FB, to be precise and both are happily married now living in Dubai.

I tend to see many people exhibit one form of beauty or fashion vogue or the other. Some people like to set trends while others follow. We are witnessing the advent of Tatoo drawing on the bodies, Body piercing, Lip Tatooing, and the more advanced ones like Boob and Bum enhancement for the ladies, Tummy tuck, Nose jobs etc. The list is actually endless. Though I meet people who come on a regular basis to ask for some of these Beauty needs, I still maintain my own stand of remaining as simple as I can be. Children and Abuse

Children and Abuse. 

Child abuse and Molestation is fast becoming a menace in our society. We've had cases of fathers abusing their daughters, mothers abusing their sons, uncles abusing wards in their care, trusted family members abusing people's children, stewards abusing their masters children and the most annoying are infants that are being abused and molested by old men. I listened to a radio program some two weeks ago and a devastated grandmum was crying like a baby on air. Guess what! Her four year old daughter was molested by a neighbor's houseboy! I could feel the anguish in her voice as she explained what just happened to her little grand daugter. Most times, these cases are not reported just to shield the victims and usually, when they are reported, the authorities treat such cases with levity. This is fast becoming a serious menace.This trend is so annoying and it is an issue that I think if more light is shed on, we would be on our guard at all times and get our young ones protected from these wolves in human skins. What's your opinion on this topic? And what do you think parents that find themselves in such predicament should do?
